Video games are usually seen as a means to enjoy one’s time and to take a break for a more mundane 9-5 kind of lifestyle. To that end, some people prefer an enriching experience by playing games with fun gameplay or engaging stories. However, an entirely different breed of gamers prefers to go another way and play only the hardest of games, those that test your skills in the most unforgiving of ways. For these people, we list down 3 rather hard games to test your might.

First up is Hades, a critically acclaimed rogue-like dungeon crawler game which really tests the dedication you have to reach the finish line. You take control of Zagreus, son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the Underworld to find his mother and learn more about himself. Death will send you back to the starting line, but you do end up retaining whatever experience you’ve amassed on your last escape attempt. However, your enemies get stronger with you. This combined with the fear of losing your progress upon dying makes Hades a truly nerve-wracking game.

Next up is Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, a JRPG that has a reputation globally for being one of the most unforgiving games out there. In the wake of a cataclysmic event, you are tasked with shaping how the new world order will look like. Unfortunately for you, the process involves dealing with pesky demons that spring up post-apocalypse. When facing them, one strategic miscalculation against even a random encounter can spell your demise, so tread carefully!
