Island holidays are great for everyone who wants to escape their everyday life and relax. The best islands to travel to on a budget are those which you can visit without spending all your savings. Sure, it is possible that these islands have fewer activities compared with other known destinations, but they are still worth exploring. Not all islands have the same budget requirements, some are expensive due to the rich history of the buildings while some are cheap just because they are less popular among tourists. There are some amazing islands around the globe you should definitely consider when you start planning your next trip.

The first island to consider is Skiathos, Greece. Skiathos is often considered one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. The island is known for its natural beauty and rich history, with many buildings still standing from Byzantine times. Skiathos is very popular among tourists due to its long sandy beaches and numerous attractions yet something that sets it apart is exceptional prices which start at just 10 EUR per night. Another Greek island is Naxos. Naxos is one of the most popular destinations in the Cyclades with its gorgeous beaches, rich history, and numerous monuments dating back to ancient times. What makes it an extremely cheap destination for vacationers is that it does not attract as many visitors as other Greek islands like Santorini or Mykonos. Prices start at just 20 EUR per night for two people in the high season.

You could also venture to Malta. Malta is well-known for its rich history, numerous monuments, and museums, but one thing which makes it stand out is the low prices for food and accommodation which start around 25 EUR/night for a double room with a private bathroom. The prices are even lower in winter when you can find a room for just 15 EUR/night. Or you can enjoy some time in Sicily, Italy. Sicily is a large island right off the coast of mainland Italy, with numerous pristine beaches and great views, yet something that makes it stand out is the rich history which attracts thousands of visitors every year. The prices are great for food and accommodation starting from just 20 EUR per night for a double room during the high season.
