Two years have passed since the release of the Xbox Series X and Series S, and while 2022 has not been the most active year for adding to our list of the top Xbox Series X games, things are starting to look good. Microsoft seems more than making up for the Xbox Series X|S launch lineup, which left a lot to be desired. There’s no real surprise that our list of the best Xbox Series X games is growing as triple-A games slowly enter development and more fantastic games are introduced to the Xbox Game Pass.

With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft continues its reputation as a developer of stunning, historically realistic video games. You take on the role of Eivor in this game, a renowned Viking warrior on a mission to conquer England and achieve greatness. In between plundering, drinking contests, and Orlag, you may explore real-world places in gorgeous 4K resolution as you progress through the drawn-out but exciting campaign. When you’re fast-moving about the globe or trying a challenging combat encounter again, the game looks stunning, plays flawlessly, and never makes you wait long to get back into action. Without a Game Of The Year contender, the top Xbox Series games list would be incomplete.

For some reason, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has again garnered praise for making its Souls-like genre more challenging, this time in an outdoor setting. This game is good since I gave it my first perfect score ranking for any Dark Souls game. What are you waiting for if you’re seeking an expansive open world that will keep you on your toes? Forza Horizon 5 has essentially polished the series’ outdoor driving and racing model, joining the ranks, or tire tracks, of Forza Horizon 4. The game is now set in Mexico, uses the Xbox Series X’s capability, looks impressive, and performs incredibly well. Unquestionably among the greatest Xbox racing games ever is Forza Horizon, and it would be insane to ignore Playground Games’ best effort to date.
