Microsoft founder’s organization is sole donor to group
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is bankrolling a liberal educational group that has made the bizzare claims that math is racist.
A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction, a conglomerate of 25 educational organizations, claims that asking students to find a correct answer is an “inherently racist practice.”
According to the organization’s website, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as its sole donor
The National File reports:
“In fact, over the past decade, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded over of $140 million to a variety of groups associated with Pathway.”
“Their ‘antiracist resources’ are at the epicenter of a new training course for teachers offered by the Oregon Department of Education throughout the state.”
“Three of the most prominent organizations receiving grant money from the Gates’ are The Education Trust, Teach Plus, and WestEd, all non-profit 501c organizations.”
The organization’s guide book for teachers called ‘Dismantling Racism in Mathematics Instruction’ claims mathematics “is used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, and racist views.”
Teachers are instructed to blame non-white students getting answers wrong on “white supremacist practices,” which are truly to blame for the “underachievement” of minorities.
As Neon Nettle previously reported in 2019, schools have succumbed to this kind of far-left insanity.
As we reported at the time:
Kids in the Pacific Northwest district’s schools will be taught “ethnic studies” as part of their K-12 math curriculum under the new proposal.
Math, it seems, is the latest part of American children’s education to come under attack for not being “inclusive” enough.
According to the Daily Signal, this new curriculum’s framework exposes just how absurd woke math will be.
Among other things, it states that “Western” mathematics as “the only legitimate expression of mathematical identity and intelligence,” whatever that means, has been used to “disenfranchise people and communities of color.”
More recently, a principal of East Side Community School in New York sent parents a manifesto that calls on them to become “white traitors” and advocate for full “white abolition.”
What is more worrying is that schools across the United States are grading standards in order to “combat racism.”
The move came after it was revealed in San Diego that just 7% of D or F grades are handed out to white students, while 23% of such failing grades went to minorities.
As Allie Beth Stuckley notes:
“I don’t know. Maybe the people who don’t want black and brown kids to learn math correctly are the *actual* white supremacists.”
