What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Don’t lie, you don’t brush your teeth first. The first thing you do is check your phone. Disagree? Simply take a second to think about what you do as soon as you open your eyes. As a matter of fact, you may not think it but you check your phone way before you even open your eyes. You see, you use your phone as your alarm and you may be hitting the snooze button without even opening your eyes. Now being dependent on your phone isn’t a bad thing, after all, we live in a technological world. But sometimes you really need to take a break.

So what does taking a break from your phone really mean? Well, it simply means giving yourself the opportunity to have a moment without your cellphone in your hand. Now if you work on your cellphone you may think that this is impossible but it really isn’t. Yes, there is so much happening that you access through your phone but what you may not realize is that there is also a lot happening that doesn’t require you to have your phone. With that said, you don’t need to take a month off from your social media or other cellphone activities to truly take a break from your phone.

You can have a break from your phone once a day. Now if you really are someone that’s glued to your phone, chances are that you wake up to your phone and go to sleep with your phone. Remember we aren’t saying that being on your phone is a bad thing. All we are saying is that you should try and take a moment away from it when possible. You can do this by eating supper without checking your phone. See it’s simple. You can also decide to read a physical book instead of one on your phone. There is actually quite a bit of thing you can do without your phone. Simply put it on silent and enjoy it.
