1971 Project Helios is a turn-based strategy game developed by Reco Technology. The game released on the 9th of June 2020. Reco Technology launched the game on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One along with the PS4.

The game basically is based on the idea from a book by the XCOM called “1971 Project Helios”. If you are bored and need something to make that time useful by playing a game, this one won’t disappoint you. The world is under an apocalypse, with extreme colds and you have a bunch of arousing characters who would help you in saving a scientist, kidnapped by the bad guys, who can help mankind resolve from this mess and bring back things to normal.

Overall, the game has the idea of an engaging planet. The game style is aggressive and lovely to play in small maps with pressure on. Fast-paced gameplay adds to the fun too. Well, the storyline is good, but its implementation is the worst it could be. The characters have different goals of there, bringing in some disorientation of the main narrative. Unlocked trees have no actual use as the game is very small. Despite the variety in maps and locations, their plainness and small size take away all the fun. The characters aren’t very well animated. The most important lack point I found was that it was the inability to save the game when you want. The autosaves aren’t well configured leading to loss of some major progress in-game.
