The World’s largest all-electric plane has now become air borne as it takes to the sky for a half an hour test flight.

Cessna Grand Caravan 208 is capable of carrying a pilot and nine passengers. This is not anywhere near the load that the traditional passenger planes are capable of carrying. It might seem like an easy job to increase the size of the plane, but it would require more energy, and to provide that energy it would require even more powerful batteries that have not been developed as of yet. Other than that, they will also require more storage space. Hence, all-electric planes still have a long way to go before they are ready for the consumer.

The planes might not be quite there yet, but they will definitely prove to be more environment friendly once they hit the market, as there would be no carbon to burn. There would also be less maintenance cost involved since an electric motor has far simpler mechanics than a traditional one.
