The peculiar nature of SARS-CoV-2 has made it difficult for scientists to discover a cure for it. Scientists from all over the world are coming in with their own set of ideas to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Some are trying to develop a cure from the already existing drugs, while others are trying to develop a vaccine from the plasma of the affected who have managed to fight off the disease.

Meanwhile, there are a handful of people who believe that developing a cure for the pandemic is not possible at all. They believe that people will have to bring changes in their social norms and practices to prevent them from catching the disease, as COVID-19 is here to stay.

A startup, that goes by the name VYZR Technologies, has developed a new air-filtration helmet that is expected to keep SARS-Cov-2 out and protect the user. The helmet is a giant bubble looking structure and is said to be air-tight. With the helmet being air-tight, a question might arise regarding suffocation but the helmet comes equipped with a fan, located at the back of the helmet to purify the inside air.

The helmet will filter out the virus using an N95 filter. Markets are already flooded with N95 masks, and they are tried and tested. Not only this but the filter placed in the helmet will be replaceable. Other prominent features of the helmet include weather-proofing, 12-hour battery life, 3 airflow settings, and an anti-fog shield. The helmet will be available in different sizes with adjustable chest straps. As the company claims, the helmet could be worn over any outfit and it is super easy to wear and remove.

The prototype has been developed and is ready to enter into a testing phase. Once available, the helmet is expected to cost around $171.

The helmet seems like a good replacement for hazmat suits since they have to be worn with proper training, otherwise, they might act as a SARS-CoV-2 carrier and affect the user. This helmet, on the other hand, is user friendly and does not require any technical training for use.
