The Maldives are a beautiful group of islands in the Indian Ocean, just south of India. It consists of 1192 coral islands grouped into 26 coral atolls. Many tourists head here for their vacation because it is a very popular honeymoon spot and the beaches are absolutely gorgeous. In fact, they have been ranked among the top ten tropical beaches in the world. There are no rivers or lakes on any of the islands, so drinking water is obtained exclusively from wells and rainwater.
